Why we decided to Blog

Posted on January 24, 2017 by Diana Axell

Having lived through the Reagan and W. years, we find ourselves hard-pressed to recite the extensive list of all the damage and insanity wrought in those dark years. In addition to the big scandals that come to mind, there were sometimes daily assaults to our progressive sensibilites.  We are, after all, only human.  At the end of the day, we are at the mercy of the random and mysterious whims of our slowly depreciating gray matter. Which is why we remember our multiplication tables, some of our pin numbers, random lyrics, and the day we learned to whistle (age 5, in the backseat of the family station wagon, somewhere in Death Valley, driving to our new home in Florida).

With our new president, we are bracing ourselves for an onslaught, and we don't want to forget any of the details.  It is especially important in this new era of official administrative policies like #alternativefacts and gaslighting.  So, this blog is mainly for us.  But we put it out here in the off chance that it might help you.  And also, we were advised that blogs are good marketing tools - when done well.  (Just trying to keep it honest, even if Trump doesn't),

Since this is a new undertaking we don't know how often we'll have time to update, but we'll do our best to be here regulary.  Let's hope the bleeding stops when Democrats take back the majority in 2018!
